Everyone Belongs

I am thrilled to share that I have received a second grant for $499 from Randomacts.org to bring Everyone Belongs to more schools!!!

Previously, I received a $500 grant from the Let's Choose Love Foundation (https://www.letschooselove.org/) for my project Everyone Belongs. The purpose of Everyone Belongs is to promote kindness, inclusion, and understanding of different cultures. I used the grant money to donate 43 books to elementary and intermediate school libraries in the Bridgewater Raritan Regional School District. The books included are about neurodiversity including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia as well as about inclusion, kindness, and different cultures/religions including Asian cultures, African culture, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism. I hope the books will help us learn to include everyone, to understand each other, to respect each other, and to help stop bullying. My heart is full with the warm response I have received!

Comments from Students at Adamsville Primary School !!
Hirishavi: “I love that Masterpiece has a few blank pages at the end for you to add your own masterpiece and it teaches you that everyone is unique and everything is a masterpiece! It teaches the readers to treat others the way you want to be treated.”
Jeffrey: “In the book The Abilities in Me, it shows us what it’s like to be different and have ADHD. It helps others know what it is like to be different and how their life is different and how it can be hard.”
Ada: “I think that What if We Were All the Same is a good book because it can help someone embrace differences and help them to learn to love others.”
Cailyn: “The book Included is a good book because it teaches people that we are all different, but just because we are different, we shouldn’t be treated differently.”
Luke: “Wonderfully Wired Brains is great. My cousin has ADHD and autism and now I can know more about what that means. I understand more about what he is doing and why he is doing it.”
Ada: “These books are a wonderful addition to the library because they can help kids understand that people’s differences make them special. If you understand other kids, you can help them to be successful and feel included.”
Cailyn: “Even though brains work differently, we are all human and need to be treated like everyone else.”
Dear Sameer and the Sood Family,
We are so grateful for the generous donation of books that you made to the Adamsville Library that highlight diversity, disabilities, and cultural differences. These books are now processed and ready for students to enjoy! I had a small group of fourth graders come to review the books and they had some remarkable responses. These additions to our library were wonderful additions to support continued education for all students, promoting the values of empathy, inclusion, and equality.
With much appreciation,
Mrs. Kelly Mumber
