Sameer Cares
Nursing Home Coloring Project

I am so excited to share I have received a $500 grant from Kindness Grows Here so my brother Neel and I can bring even more joy to seniors by providing Valentine's Day Cheer with gift bags with blankets, stuffed animals, and Hearts of Kindness!
I created the Nursing Home Coloring Project with my twin brother, Neel, to spread smiles and joy to residents of nursing homes in my community. We visit local nursing homes and talk with the residents. We give the residents bright coloring pages with happy pictures on them of rainbows, flowers, unicorns, and teddy bears. Each coloring page has a positive message such as "A Rainbow For You", "Choose Happy", or "Have A Great Day." We also help hang up the colorings up on the residents' walls to brighten up their rooms and their days.
The pages have been colored by elementary school children and have their first name and age included on them. So far, over 100 students in my school district have participated in the project and have created uplifting, beautiful colorings.
I feel so happy to see how much joy the colorings bring to the residents and how they make the residents smile when they see them on their walls.
If you are a teacher or part of a group (children or adults) that would like to participate in spreading joy by completing the colorings or if you are at a facility that would like to receive colorings, please contact me at sameercares@yahoo.com
